*Not required to show Christian hospitality to deceivers and false teachers vs 10, Probably emphasizing active ministries more than private guests

*Antichrist denies Jesus has come in the flesh vs 7 - gnostics & Jews of the day

*to aid false teachers is to aid their wickedness vs 11

*truth and love vs 1& 3, not truthless love

*true Christians have love for other true Christians vs 1 cf John 13:35
